  1. Single moms are one of the most disadvantaged groups in the U.S., with 30% or more of their families living under the poverty line.
  2. 18.4% of 1980 births in the U.S. were to unmarried women, as compared to 40.6% in 2008.
  3. 90% of welfare recipients are single mothers.

BRIDGES OF HOPE FOR SINGLE MOMS

Through community partnerships, applicants participate in a two-year program that includes housing assistance, parenting and money management classes, job training, and emotional support. Participants are mentored as they find their purpose and pursue a trade certification or college degree.
